Molly Eats Bugs and Gets Car Sick

Miss Molly has really grown over the past month!

When we saved her from the Humane Society she was a whole 19lbs. A week later when we took her to the vet, she was up to 24lbs. We think she is about 30lbs now.

She is such a great addition to our family and she keeps us in stitches with the funny things she does, like.....she eats bugs.

I am sure there are responsible pet owners out there who would frown at this - but it makes her happy and it cuts down on our bug population!

She also get car sick....

This stinks because she loves to go the dog park. Thank goodness it is only two miles from the house.

Liana and Mike are Married

I just got back from a week in a small neighborhood of LA {Beverly Hills} for my good friend's wedding. I just know this wedding is going to turn up on many blogs because of all the DIY projects. We did the flowers, her mother sewed the table cloths, the dresses were bought on sale and individualized for each bridesmaid. Martha, eat your heart out!

I have mentioned Liana and her now husband before because she was my Maid of Honor in our wedding.

The wedding and the reception were held at Greystone Mansion. The house has a very sordid and fascinating past. The original ground of the estate were sold off and that is where most of Beverly Hills was built on.

I was privileged to be one of the Matrons of Honor {a honor I shared with her sister Laurel}
Here is a taste of the beautiful day. Sara D. Harper {our photographer from our wedding} was one of four photographers. {Liana is a wedding photographer.} These are from her.

{Finally} A Direction

I spent the last week in what had to be the most exclusive {i.e. most expensive} part of the country for my dear friends wedding; Beverly Hills. She and her new Mr. spent their honeymoon night at the Viceroy Hotel about a 15 minute drive west of the city in Santa Monica Beach.

I am typically the shabby chic kinda girl and have been for years. My motto was 'if its old, I like it!" But after seeing this fabulous place I think my little girls shabby chic's ass.

Check it out! {And ignore the silly tipsy bridal party.}

It was like traditional meets ultra modern, but not in a way that was cold or intimidating.

I am not sure if I could recreate this style without it being too much in our house, but I think there are some great ideas that would work.

Many of the stars frequent the lounge, I wonder who has sat in this chair!

The designer was Kelly Wearstler. She also headed up the design for the Viceroy in Miami and Palm Springs. The feel is described as "Modern Colonial." Whatever it is called, I love it and am sure that I have grown out of my 'hand me down' shabby chic phase for good.
