{Finally} A Direction

I spent the last week in what had to be the most exclusive {i.e. most expensive} part of the country for my dear friends wedding; Beverly Hills. She and her new Mr. spent their honeymoon night at the Viceroy Hotel about a 15 minute drive west of the city in Santa Monica Beach.

I am typically the shabby chic kinda girl and have been for years. My motto was 'if its old, I like it!" But after seeing this fabulous place I think my little girls shabby chic's ass.

Check it out! {And ignore the silly tipsy bridal party.}

It was like traditional meets ultra modern, but not in a way that was cold or intimidating.

I am not sure if I could recreate this style without it being too much in our house, but I think there are some great ideas that would work.

Many of the stars frequent the lounge, I wonder who has sat in this chair!

The designer was Kelly Wearstler. She also headed up the design for the Viceroy in Miami and Palm Springs. The feel is described as "Modern Colonial." Whatever it is called, I love it and am sure that I have grown out of my 'hand me down' shabby chic phase for good.
