Like Johny and June by Heidi Newfield

Lyrics:
Oh there's something 'bout a man in black,
Makes me want to buy a cadillac,
Throw the top back,
And roll down to Jackson town,
I wanna be there on the stage with you,
You and I could be the next rage to,
Hear the crowd roar,
Make 'em one more,
I'll kick the footlights out,

I wanna love like Johnny and June,
Rings of fire burnin' with you,
I wanna walk the line,
Walk the line,
'Till the end of time,
I wanna love,
Love ya that much,
Cash it all in,
Give it all up,
When you're gone,
I wanna go too,
Like Johnny and June,

I wanna hold you baby right or wrong,
Build a world around a country song,
Pray a sweet prayer,
Follow you there,
Down in history,

I wanna love like Johnny and June,
Rings of fire burnin' with you,
I wanna walk the line,
Walk the line,
'Till the end of time,
I wanna love,
Love ya that much,
Cash it all in,
Give it all up,
When you're gone,
I wanna go too,
Like Johnny and June,

Like Johnny and June,
More than life itself,
No-one else,
This here is promise,
They don't make love like that anymore,
Is that too much to be askin' for,

I wanna love like Johnny and June,
Rings of fire burnin' with you,
I wanna walk the line,
Walk the line,
'Till the end of time,
I wanna love,
Love ya that much,
Cash it all in,
Give it all up,
When you're gone,
I wanna go too,
Like Johnny and June,

Like Johnny and June,
And when we're gone,
There'll be no tears to cry,
Only memories of our lives,
They'll remember, remember,
A love like that.

Wow cool cake for your theme, not mine ;)

Ah, my lovely Maid of Honor, Miss Liana Lehman. She is a hoot, and that is why I love her so much. We are two gals cut from the same cloth, just different dye lots. Where I am more vintage and peaches and taupes and she is more contemporary and bright tropical colors.

She is getting married in April to a great guy named Mike (who she refers to as Mikey.)

Santorini-2214
This is them in Santorini July 2007 - they make such a cute couple.

She is the friend who introduced me to the Polyvore website!

Just to illustrate how different our taste our - here is her board:

and here is one of mine:
Anyway...........I could go on and on why there are so many reasons why I just love her, I wanted to share one!

She is going to head up the efforts to make my fake cake for the wedding reception. I priced out many bakers in my area and while I truly appreciate the art of cake making, I can't fit into my budget! I mean - the average was like $4.25 a slice - that would be $531 for a CAKE! In come Miss Liana - the DIY wonder! She has been practicing and planning for the bestest fakest cake there was! She made a beautful one for my wedding shower and once I get the photos from her I will share - it was a real cake with three different layers and my favorite flower adorning it (Pink Gerber Daisys!)

We are going to just have a simple sheet cake in the back for the cater to cut and pass and make a small section of the fake cake that will allow us to realisticly cut into it during the cake cutting. I estimate our cake will cost about $200 tops! (Break down - $100 for the fake cake and $100 for the real yummy publix sheet cake.)

She sent me this last night!

Liana e-mailed "That is something amazing, hu?? If only I had the faintest idea how that's done..."

I have no doubt that her creation will be just as if not more beautiful!

Dear Future: Dream Kitchen

Jason and I often speak of you and what you will be like. We are excited about Miss. Molly and Miss. Maddy (you know the girls you are going to bring to us in 2 to 3 years) and Mr. Michael (the little boy you will surprise us with a few years later! We can't wait for our first anniversary, our first Christmas together and especially about the 22nd of November. Gosh, not knowing what you bring is so exciting that I can't wait for this weekend. I have no idea what you have in store.

I love surprises, but I also know that you must have your hands full right now. So I would like to just give you a few ideas of how I would like my kit-sorry, our kitchen to look like in that new home you will help us find in 2 to 3 months after the 22nd!

Dream Kitchens
Lots of light ~ tons of counter space!

Dream Kitchens
A window is a must!

Dream Kitchens
I could cook and serve people at the same time!

Dream Kitchens

Just a few ideas for you. Note that there are no electric stoves - they are all GAS. Also, I love, love, love the idea of having a pasta water spout over the oven! Please make the kitchen warm, inviting and please also make sure there is music always playing so the memories you bring us with Molly, Maddy and Michael will be perfect.

Love ya - see ya soon!

Hello, I am an Oompa-Loompa - now where is my wedding dress

I said I wouldn't do it, I told my self that I would never fall prey to the pressure to look like one of "those girls."But Liana mentioned doing a shoot with my wedding dress Saturday and all of a sudden I realized that I was the color that I am - white - no tan lines - just the color I was the day I was born............so what do I do...........I folded lawn chair.

I made an appointment to get sprayed with the sugary bronzer that Jason later mentioned smelled like a cigar (not the nasty after been smoked, but the yummy hand rolled ones fresh out of the humidor - or at least I hope that is what he meant)

Let me back up a little and paint a picture for you...as a spray tan newbie there are several customs I was not aware of. I have gone to a spray booth before where you go into a room where only you are and only you can see the choice of clothing you do or do not have on. So as you can imagine when I arrived at the salon and a very unassuming teenage girl tells me that I will have to take my bra off, it caught me off guard. All of a sudden, ignoring this sweet girl when she told me her name seemed like a mistake as I try to make a habit to know that names of the people I disrobe in front of.

After a few minutes of her assuring me that she has seen it all (where is child services!) and that it doesn't matter to her (well, it matters to me) I agreed to stop being so modest and show her the goods for the benefit of my all over even tan.

The end result - after six days of scrubbing, bitching and staring at in the mirror for far too long, the tan is still here and is just now looking somewhat natural. I had the spray-on-tan sprayed on Friday. Saturday was the Wedding Shower where my Aunt Pat made the comment, "You are more olive than that."

I must rethink my pre-wedding beauty regiment.

Sneak Peak of my Bridal Portraits

This weekend my girls hosted a wedding shower for me! We had the best time rolling out toilet paper into wedding dresses and quizzing me to see how well I know Jason AND taking my Bridal Shots. Liana is so talented and really makes you feel comfortable enough to get the best shot!

Here is one of many that she took.

Kimberly_Bride

She also sent me one that I could show to Jason since he will not see the dress until I walk down the aisle.

Kimberly_With_Bib

Maybe not the cover up I would have chosen...but he appreciated the glimpse.

Clearly, Mike, Liana's Fiance was with her when she was editing, since she also sent this one:

I surely don't see her doing this on her own!

Bringing Back the Carnation

I have always loved carnations - I think that it is unfortunate that grocery stores have died and sprayed them into the cheap bin. With the right container and the right color combination you can really have pizazz!

Bridal Wars

I can't wait for this movie!!

Love is Not a Fight by Warren Barfield

Lyrics:
Love is not a place
to come and go as we please
It's a house we enter in
then commit to never leave

So lock the door behind you
Throw away the key
Work it out together
Let it bring us to our knees

Love is a shelter
in a raging storm
Love is peace
in the middle of a war
And if we try to leave;
May God send angels to guard the door
No, Love is not a fight
but its something worth fighting for

To some love is a word
that they can fall into.
But when they're falling out
keeping that word is hard to do

Love is a shelter
in a raging storm
Love is peace
in the middle of a war
And if we try to leave;
May God send angels to guard the door
No, Love is not a fight
but its something worth fighting for

Love will come to save us
If we'll only call
He will ask nothing from us
but demand we give our all

Love is a shelter
in a raging storm
Love is peace
in the middle of a war
And if we try to leave;
May God send angels to guard the door
No, Love is not a fight
but its something worth fighting for.

Cause I Will Fight For You
Would You Fight For Me
It's Worth Fighting For.

Registered? Now the research

Since you have now registered and are set to vote: who to vote for?

Click here to read about what Obama stands for.

Click here to read about what McCain stands for.

Don't rely on the media to decide for you - don't rely on your parents voting history - decide based on what is important to you, what issues you stand for, what changes you want to see.

Our God Given Right!

This is the last day to register to vote in the sate of Georgia: Click here to see about your state.

If you still have time, you have several choices: you can run to your local library, you can register here on Rock The Vote, you can go here, Declare Yourself. You can also print this out and mail it in. YOU HAVE TO HAVE IT POST MARK BY THE DUE DATE OF YOUR STATE.

Just as a reminder, in the early part of the century, there were a group of women who protested, marched, petitioned and rallied for our (if you are a women) right to vote. They endured humiliation, arrest, exiled and other unthinkable consciousnesses to ensure we have the same rights of men.

Emmeline Pankhurst Arrested

From Wikipedia:

"In 1912, Alice Paul joined the National American Women Suffrage Association (NAWSA) and was appointed Chairman of their Congressional Committee in Washington, DC. After months of fundraising and raising awareness for the cause, membership numbers went up and, in 1913, Alice Paul and Lucy Burns formed the Congressional Union for Women Suffrage. Their focus was lobbying for a constitutional amendment to secure the right to vote for women. Such an amendment had originally been sought by suffragists Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton in 1878. However, by the early 20th century, attempts to secure a federal amendment had ceased. The focus of the suffrage movement had turned to securing the vote on a state-by-state basis.

When their lobbying efforts proved fruitless, Paul and her colleagues formed the National Woman's Party (NWP) in 1916 and began introducing some of the methods used by the suffrage movement in Britain. Tactics included demonstrations, parades, mass meetings, picketing, suffrage watch, fires, and hunger strikes. These actions were accompanied by press coverage and the publication of the weekly Suffragist.

In the election of 1916, Paul and the NWP campaigned against the continuing refusal of President Woodrow Wilson and other incumbent Democrats to support the Suffrage Amendment actively. In January 1917, the NWP staged the first political protest to picket the White House. The picketers, known as "Silent Sentinels," held banners demanding the right to vote. This was an example of a non-violent civil disobedience campaign. In July 1917, picketers were arrested on charges of "obstructing traffic." Many, including Paul, were convicted, incarcerated and tortured at the Occoquan Workhouse in Virginia (later the Lorton Correctional Complex) and the District of Columbia Jail.

In protest of the conditions in Occoquan, Paul commenced a hunger strike. This led to her being moved to the prison’s psychiatric ward and force-fed raw eggs through a plastic tube. Other women joined the strike, which combined with the continuing demonstrations and attendant press coverage, kept the pressure on the Wilson administration.[2] In January, 1918, the president announced that women's suffrage was urgently needed as a "war measure." Wilson strongly urged Congress to pass the legislation. In 1920, after coming down to one vote in the state of Tennessee, the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution secured the vote for women."

The Office

If you are in the Southeastern part of this great country of ours (as I am) than you know about the gas shortage. It is getting better slowly, but better safe than sorry. For the past week, most of us southerns have been home bound with only few and very essential trips (to and from work; to work, the grocery store on the way home, the drug store in walking distance to the grocery store on the way home and then to 10 - 15 gas stations in a 15 mile radius to find one that will allow you to fill only up to $40 worth of gas, then straight home.) That was the bad news, the goods news; Preimer week for all my favorite shows!

One of my most very the One of my favorite shows is now planning (on the show of course) two weddings. Who isn't excited about this!
