For the most part, we know how much time we have to wait; you have to 16 years old to drive, 21 to drink, 18 to vote, 35 to run for president, an hour to swim after you eat, you will be on hold for approximately 2 min….Not once did anyone tell me that I would have to wait 29 years to meet the love of my life, and possibly 30 years for the love of my life to ask for my hand in marriage…..still waiting.
I met Jason October 28th, 2006 at a Halloween Party. We started dating June 15th, 2007. We realized we were in love with each other mid July and decided to talk serious about marriage in August. We went to look at rings November. If I were not me, I would read this and think…slow down would you? But, until it is you, it seems like plenty of time. We discussed that we would like to be married in 2008 and I told him that I wanted at least a six month engagement.
Met the perfect man…..wait……fall in love……wait………let's talk marriage…..wait……look at rings………WAIT!!! Mr. Man gives me entirely too much credit when it comes to figuring out when it is going to happen. I have no freggin clue. I am an idiot and forgot that men do as they are told and if you say to a guy, "I don't want to get engaged over the holidays", and you will not get engaged over the holidays…. I thought surely he would read through that – but no. He did as he was told. I was a little suspicious on New Years; he kept telling me that he loved me over and over again (but he does this all the time) and telling me that he was so lucky to have me in his life (again – a every day occurrence…) So, no dice….but what a nice way to spend New Years, ugh?
Anyhow…..still waiting. He did ask me for my ring size the other day. So that's a development….I hope it will unfold in to something soon. I would wait for a million years for him, but it would be really nice to have his last name.
